Don’t miss the opportunity to apply for the 2022-2023 Wilcox PTSA Scholarship! Community service-based PTSA Scholarships are available to graduating high school seniors for use at an accredited college or university, community college, or trade and technical school. And if you have not joined the PTSA yet, now is the time since you must be a PTSA member to apply.

- Merit will be determined by hours volunteered/worked during high school years  

Questions?

What kind of information do I have to provide in order to apply?

Basically you’ll need to list the name(s) of accredited colleges, universities, community colleges, or trade and technical schools that you have applied and/or been accepted to, and your intended major or course of study.

You’ll provide a brief statement of your reason for applying for this scholarship and list your career plans.

You’ll describe your school service-related activities and details of your volunteer service in the community, and upload a reference letter from a teacher, counselor, employer or advisor.

When is it due? 

The application deadline is April 15th, 2023.

How will I know if I’ve been selected to receive a scholarship?

Scholarships will be presented at the Wilcox Academic Awards Night ceremony (recipients will be notified ahead of time).

Santa Clara Unified Council of PTAS Scholarships: DUE April 24th, 2023

2023 High School Senior Scholarships

We are excited to share that we are once again offering scholarships to deserving seniors this year. The council is hoping to have seniors from all five of our SCUSD high schools apply.

Important Information:

  • Graduating seniors planning to attend an accredited community college, trade/technical school, college or university this fall are eligible to apply.

  • No transcript/GPA is to be included with the application

  • Winners will be selected based on volunteer/work experience

  • Scholarship awards will be up to $500

  • Application due date is Monday, April 24, 2023

  • Application submissions are online only this year. Completed applications should be emailed to scholarships@scucouncilpta.com

Barbara Emerich Scholarship 2023

Barbara Emerich held PTA leadership positions, from local schools to the state level, for more than 50 years. Her commitment to children was unparalleled, particularly in the areas of juvenile justice, gun control, teenage health and special needs.

The Sixth District PTA proudly honors Barbara Emerich’s extraordinary service by awarding a $750 scholarship to two (2) high school seniors (at a PTA HS within Sixth District's area) who best exemplify her dedication to youth and families.

Applications are due electronically by Friday, April 7, 2023 at midnight. If you are unable to send your application in electronically please reach out to programs@capta6.org.

Finalists may be contacted for a phone interview.  Scholarship winners will be announced in May 2023.

California State PTA ScholarshipS:

Two scholarships are available for your application:

  • $1,000 Volunteer Service Scholarship — This scholarship recognizes graduating seniors for their volunteer service in schools and communities, allowing them to register for courses at accredited colleges, universities, trade or technical schools. Applicants must be PTA members graduating from a California high school between January 1 and June 30 of the current academic year.
  • $500 Dr. Ralph E. White Graduating Senior Scholarship – Honoring the volunteer and public-service legacy of Dr. Ralph E. White and his wife, Eleanor, this additional scholarship provides $500 each to two successful applicants of the Volunteer Service Scholarship who intend to pursue a career in a medical field.

Applications, reference forms and all supporting documents must be received in the California State PTA office by February 1 each year. Applications for 2023 are now open. All applicants are notified of their status in March. Scholarship winners receive a letter of congratulations and recognition certificate from California State PTA along with a check. Download the application for a complete list of requirements.
