Don’t miss the opportunity to apply for the 2020-2021 Wilcox PTSA Scholarship! Community service-based PTSA Scholarships are available to graduating high school seniors for use at an accredited college or university, community college, or trade and technical school. And if you have not joined the PTSA yet, now is the time since you must be a PTSA member to apply.

What kind of information do I have to provide in order to apply?

Basically you’ll need to list the name(s) of accredited colleges, universities, community colleges, or trade and technical schools that you have applied and/or been accepted to, and your intended major or course of study.

You’ll provide a brief statement of your reason for applying for this scholarship and list your career plans.

You’ll describe your school service-related activities and details of your volunteer service in the community, and upload a reference letter from a teacher, counselor, employer or advisor.

When is it due? 

The application deadline is April 30, 2021.

How will I know if I’ve been selected to receive a scholarship?

Scholarships will be presented at the Wilcox Academic Awards Night ceremony (recipients will be notified ahead of time).

Santa Clara Unified Council of PTAS Scholarships: DUE April 26th, 2021

SCUSD Graduating High School Senior Scholarships

The Santa Clara Council PTA recognizes volunteerism as integral to its mission. Therefore, the council would like to recognize students with significant volunteer service and/or work experience with scholarship awards of up to $500.  High school transcripts are not required for this scholarship.

The scholarship application is due April 26th, 2021. 

Requirements:

  • Attend an SCUSD high school
  • Be a current academic year high school senior planning to attend an accredited community    college, trade/technical school or university the next school year.

Application requirements:

  • List community colleges, trade/technical schools, or universities to which you are applying.
  • Describe any PTA/PTSA responsibilities.
  • Describe your school/community VOLUNTEER SERVICE during high school.
  • Describe your WORK EXPERIENCE during high school.
  • Provide contact information for adults supervising your volunteer/work activities.

Selection:  Recipients are selected by the SCU Council of PTAs Scholarship Committee.

Notification:  High schools will be notified in early May of award recipients.

Follow-Up:  Students must provide expense receipts (tuition, books, lab fees, etc.) for reimbursement of scholarship award by November 1 (or have a valid explanation for delaying education until the following January) or the scholarship will be voided and redistributed to an alternate applicant.

Barbara Emerich Scholarship: DUE May 7th, 2021

The Barbara Emerich 2021 Scholarship

Applications are now open and will be due Friday, May 7, 2021 at Midnight.

Barbara Emerich held PTA leadership positions, from local schools to the state level, for more than 50 years.  Her commitment to children was unparalleled, particularly in the areas of juvenile justice, gun control, teenage health and special needs. 

The Sixth District PTA proudly honors Barbara Emerich’s extraordinary service by awarding scholarships to two high school seniors who best exemplify her dedication to youth and families.

We are pleased to announce that the Barbara Emerich Scholarship Committee is now accepting applications from qualified 20 graduating seniors.  Barbara Emerich, a PTA volunteer and leader for more than 50 years, dedicated her time and talents in support of children, particularly in the areas of juvenile justice, gun control, teen health and special needs.  Sixth District PTA created this scholarship to honor her exemplary service.

Two scholarships of $750.00 each are available to support students who are planning to attend a 2- or 4-year college.  Applicants must be current high school seniors, members of their high school PTA/PTSA, and should have a strong record of community service: volunteering in education, counseling, mentoring, tutoring/preschool or with special needs children.

Applications are due electronically by Friday, May 7, 2021 at midnight. If you are unable to send your application in electronically please reach out to programs@capta6.org.

Finalists may be contacted for a phone interview.  Scholarship winners will be announced in May 2021.

California State PTA ScholarshipS: CLOSED Feb 1st, 2021

Class of 2021 -

Two scholarships are available for your application:

  • $750 Volunteer Service Scholarship — This scholarship recognizes graduating seniors for their volunteer service in schools and communities, allowing them to register for courses at accredited colleges, universities, trade or technical schools. Applicants must be PTA members graduating from a California high school between January 1 and June 30 of the current academic year.
  • $500 Dr. Ralph E. White Graduating Senior Scholarship – Honoring the volunteer and public-service legacy of Dr. Ralph E. White and his wife, Eleanor, this additional scholarship provides $500 each to two successful applicants of the Volunteer Service Scholarship who intend to pursue a career in a medical field.

Applications, reference forms and all supporting documents must be received in the California State PTA office by February 1. All applicants are notified of their status in March. Scholarship winners receive a letter of congratulations and recognition certificate from California State PTA along with a check. Download the application for a complete list of requirements.
