Sixth District PTA Reflections Participation Certificates have already been shared with the students/parents. Do please contact me asap if you haven't received it or if there is an error on your certificate.
For the students who received an Honorable Mention, Award of Merit or Award of Excellence, your certificates will be sent out in February. It will go to the Council PTA and then be distributed to the units. Will get it across once I receive them.

6th District Reception will be on Thursday, January 12th at @6:30 pm.
** For all the participants, don't loose heart if you did not win. Remember Reflections is all about expressing yourself through various forms of art and finding happiness in the process. As you know there is always next year, and it is never too early to get started. The theme for next year (2023-24) is "I Am Hopeful Because..........". So get started on your creations, and spread the word so your friends can participate too!**
Congratulations to ALL students who participated in the Reflections Art Program 2022-23 “Show Your Voice”.
Our sincere thanks to the judges Heather Morton, Rich Casem, Kalpana Adesara (Visual Arts); Jillian Simms (Music); Chloe Pounds, Nigel Gully (Literature); Mark Gerow, Susan Harding (Photography) for taking some time out and providing their expertise.
I would also like to extend our thanks to Ms. Diane Lash, Ms. Theresa Sullivan, Ms. Lisa Schreiber for their tremendous help in promoting the program.
We had a total of 40 entries and according to me All participants are winners for expressing themselves and for showing enthusiasm for the arts. The entries moving forward to the Council Level are:

**Advancing Visual Arts and Photography students : please submit your physical entries to the office - Ms Theresa Sullivan by Nov 7th (please make sure to comply with the submission rules - see attachment) as the 6th District now requires us to send in the physical entries of the winners of Visual Arts and Photography categories at the Council Level**
The Reception for Council Level will be held on Monday, November 14th.
CLOSED for 2022-23 - Get started on 2023-24 Reflections! The theme is "I Am Hopeful Because.........."
(The information below are guidelines - forms for 2023-24 will be available late summer 2023.)
That’s the theme for the 2022-2023 Reflections Art Program which has been bringing the arts to life for more than 10 million students since 1969. California State PTA and its members, families and kids are on the forefront of this amazing program, which increases community awareness of the importance of arts in education.
Reflections encourages students of all ages to:
- Unleash creative talents and be inspired
- Express themselves imaginatively in their artwork
- Experience the fun and joy of making art
- Tap into critical-thinking skills to create art inspired by the annual theme
- Receive positive recognition for their original works of art.
PARTICIPATION IS EASY, EXCITING AND EMPOWERING
Deadline October 7th, 2022
ALL students are invited to participate and submit original artwork in one of six areas ONLINE ONLY

INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUBMITTING ENTRY FOR REFLECTIONS
You need to have a GMAIL account to access/submit your reflection entry. School Emails (@scusd.net) are blocked and CANNOT be used on the form. All entries should be done using personal or parent emails. If using someone else’s to access the form, please make sure you fill in the email field/column with the email address that would be the point of contact if needed or required.
When Ready to Submit your Entry:
- Click on the STUDENT ENTRY FORM .
- Fill the form and upload your files. (Visual Arts entries may upload up to 3 pictures of their art to give a better view of color/tones, brush strokes/texture, neatness etc.)
- Click on Submit at the bottom of the form. You will get a response back to the email that you filled out in the form and You will be allowed to make changes to it till Oct 8th (forms will be closed after that day for submissions).
- Each Entry requires a separate form (After submission you get a choice to either edit or submit another response).
ANNUAL THEME SEARCH (CLOSED)
Each year, students are invited to submit themes for the Annual Reflections Art Program that will inspire young artists to create original works.
Submit your Theme search entries between September 1, 2022 and November 1, 2022.
