The "Award of Excellence" winners will be receiving further communications around Feb/Mar 2021 from California State PTA if they have moved up. A gentle reminder for  the Award of Excellence recipients to keep their physical artwork handy as CAPTA may need your artwork at a later time.

That’s the theme for the 2021-2022 Reflections Art Program which has been bringing the arts to life for more than 10 million students since 1969. California State PTA and its members, families and kids are on the forefront of this amazing program, which increases community awareness of the importance of arts in education.

Reflections encourages students of all ages to:

  • Unleash creative talents and be inspired
  • Express themselves imaginatively in their artwork
  • Experience the fun and joy of making art
  • Tap into critical-thinking skills to create art inspired by the annual theme
  • Receive positive recognition for their original works of art.


ALL students are invited to participate and submit original artwork in one of six areas ONLINE ONLY 

  • Dance Choreography 
  • Literature
  • Photography
  • Film Production
  • Music Composition
  • Visual Arts

As a reminder, the 2023-2024 National PTA Reflections theme search  submissions are due November 1, 2021! Submissions can be made using the digital theme search form. California theme idea finalists will be forwarded to the national level for consideration and judging. Click here for more information about submitting a Reflections Theme.


You need to have a GMAIL account to submit your reflection entry.

If using someone else’s please make sure you fill in the email field with the email address that would be the point of contact if needed or required.

School Emails are blocked and CANNOT be used for the  form. 

All entries should be done using personal or parent emails. 

When Ready to Submit your Entry: 

  1. Click on the STUDENT ENTRY FORM .

  2. Fill the form and upload your files. (Visual Arts entries may upload up to 3 pictures of their art to give a better view of color/tones, brush strokes/texture, neatness etc..)

  3. Click on Submit at the bottom of the form. You will get a response back to the email that you filled out in the form and You will be allowed to make changes to it till Oct 8th (forms will be closed after that day for submissions).

  4. Each Entry requires a separate form (After submission you get a choice to either edit or submit another response).
