Social Science mission statement
Wilcox High School Social Science classes focus on helping students develop 21st century skills. These skills include listening, speaking, and technological proficiency. In addition, students will gain a greater understanding of modern history through critical thinking, reading and writing.
Students in social science classrooms experience a variety of instructional methods which help foster their learning through:
- primary and secondary source analysis
- research projects
- simulations
- engaging debates and discussions
- lecture
- interactive notebooks
- geography activities
