Updated K-12 Schools Guidance from California Department of Public Health
Posted 7/13/21

En Español

Dear Santa Clara Unified staff and families,

Yesterday, the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) released updated K-12 Schools Guidance which modifies previous guidance to create only one requirement for all schools for the 2021-2022 school year — the wearing of masks indoors by all individuals on school campuses, no matter vaccination status. California’s updated guidance follows the CDC guidance released on Friday, July 9, 2021.

What you need to know:

  • All California schools, public and private, must adhere to the CDPH requirement of masks for all persons indoors on school campuses. Masks are not required outdoors.
  • Physical distancing is not required.

SCUSD will implement all guidance recommendations to the fullest extent possible. We are reviewing the updated guidance and will update our district’s COVID-19 Health and Safety Plan and communicate expectations and practices for the 2021-2022 school year in the coming weeks.

Sincerely,

Santa Clara Unified School District
