PTSA Senior Scholarships

Wilcox PTSA Scholarship due April 2, 2018

Hello Wilcox families,

Your Wilcox PTSA is happy to let you know that we have increased our budget for scholarships for this school year. 

Applications are due by April 2nd, 2018.

There will be more information towards the end of the school year but here are the requirements:

Wilcox PTSA Scholarships are available to graduating high school seniors for use at an accredited college/university, community college, or trade and technical school.


  • Student has been enrolled at Wilcox High School for both junior and seniors years.
  • Student must be a PTSA member.
  • Student has a grade point average of 2.5 or better.
  • Student must show proof of college or university enrollment as a full-time student by October 15, 2018 (or have valid reason for delaying education until January 2019) or the scholarship will be voided and redistributed to an alternate applicant.

SCUSD Graduating High School Senior Scholarships

For over twenty years, SCU Council PTA has offered graduating SCUSD senior high school students continuing education scholarships.  The scholarship application is due April 24th, 2018 . 

  • Only graduating seniors planning to attend an accredited community college, trade/technical school, college or university this fall are eligible.
  • No transcript/GPA is to be included with the application
  • Winners will be selected based on volunteer/work experience
  • Volunteer/work experience will be verified with the supervising adult indicated
  • Scholarship awards will be in the $300-$400 range
  • Application due date is Tuesday, April 24, 2018

Barbara Emerich Scholarship due April 10, 2018

Dear PTA Presidents, Scholarship Advisors, Career Centers and Staff:

We are pleased to announce that the Barbara Emerich Scholarship Fund is now accepting applications from qualified 2018 graduating seniors.  Barbara Emerich, a PTA volunteer and leader for over 50 years, dedicated her time and talents in support of children, particularly in the areas of juvenile justice, gun control, teen health and special needs.  This scholarship was created to honor her exemplary service.  

Two scholarships of $750.00 each are available to support students who are planning to attend a 2- or 4-year college.  Applicants must be current high school seniors, members of their high school PTSA, with at least a 2.5 GPA and should have a strong record of community service/volunteering in education, counseling, mentoring, tutoring and preschool or with special needs children.  

Applications should be emailed or postmarked no later than April 10, 2018. Please mail the application form to Sixth District PTA, 1290 Ridder Park Drive, M/C 214, San Jose, CA 95131, or email to office@capta6.org.

Finalists may be contacted for a phone interview in April.  We will proudly announce the two recipients by letter and present them with certificates in May 2018.

California State PTA Scholarship: Due in February - Check back in 2019!

Your education doesn’t end once you walk across that high-school graduation stage. 

That’s why California State PTA has two scholarships to help you achieve your college dreams and your life goals.

Graduating high-school seniors are eligible to apply for the $750 Volunteer Service Scholarship and the $500 Dr. Ralph E. White Scholarship for medical-field education. Applications are due February 1.

Applications must be received in the California State PTA office by Thursday, February 1, 2018 at 5:00 pm. 

  • This is not a postmark date. If you are mailing your application, your packet must be in the CAPTA office by this date. 
  • If you are submitting it electronically, 5:00 pm is the deadline, not midnight.
