Information regarding registration for De Anza College

Step #1.  Apply online starting March 1st (Use the Summer Application in order to attend the summer Counseling 100 orientation)

Step #2.  Take De Anza College Math English Pl acement Test (Offered Most weekdays, no fees, no appointment needed - see link below for details)

Step #3. Attend New Student Parent Open House - Saturday, May 22

  •   Activities include Counseling 100 registration, program information, campus tours, placement testing, presentations,  meeting De Anza faculty staff, and much more

Step #4  Register for Counseling 100:  College Orientation

  • Choose your session when signing up - select week and time you would like to attend.  Sessions are offered weekly in the summer:  Genereally M-Th for about 3 hrs each day

Step #5.  Attend Counseling 100 Orientation (in the Summer)

  • A one-week session offered weekly in the summer, August - mid September
  • In Counseling 100, you will learn important college information, select FALL classes with help from a counselor, and register early for fall.

Step #6.  Register for classes online and pay your fees

Step #7

  • Fall Classes Start September 20,2010
  • if you do not show up for your first class, you may be dropped
  • Summer session starts June 28 If taking summer classes

Online Applications for Students Attending Fall 2010

  • Go to westvalley.edu beginning April 1st and complete an online application
  • Complete West Valley College assessments in English, reading and math.
  • See your counselor/Career Tech to check if your school has assessment testing on your campus or check www.westvalley.edu for scheduled assessments on the WVC campus.
  • Choose one date for your Orientation.  All orientations will take place at West Valley.
  • RSVP your orientation date to WVC_outreach@westvalley.edu.  When sending your RSVP, the subject of the emial should read:  RSVP Orientation (write in the date) Include in the body of email: Your name, your high school and your West Valley College ID number.
