Counseling Services

Counseling Services

The high school counselors assist students and their parents in planning a meaningful program of education, career, and personal development. The counselors provide information to help students make appropriate decisions and to give students a means for expression of their interests, concerns, and talents. The counseling staff believes that the process of maturing involves a growing willingness on the part of the student to make choices and accept responsibility.

The Counseling Staff provides the following services:

Educational and College Planning: The counselors assist students and their parents with high school educational planning and programming to ensure that students have an appropriate secondary education. The counselors assist students in choosing among post secondary options, both education and vocational. They also assist in the college selection process by providing information pertaining to admissions requirements, college admissions, scholarships, testing, and applications. (Click here to see the WHS Graduation Requirements and here to skip to College Guidance)

Personal Counseling: The counselors assist students by providing support and guidance to improve school performance. Councelor Interns are available during the school day for students needing additional counseling support. To visit these counselors, students must have parental permission.
